Weekly Round Up: Rue Edition

Happpppy Fridaayyyy!

Hello, hello, it's the best day of the week! I hope you all had a great week.

As of now, I am officially slacking in the workout routine department. My excuse is M being home. A terrible excuse I know. I'm going to start setting weekly goals which seem a little more manageable and will hopefully help keep me on track.

My job is going better than ever, I officially make more and work less at a bar/restaurant than I did at my 7:30-5 salaried job. Unbelievable, I know. Especially considering I work in a "small town" bar. It is making me feel content with the decision to quit my job and do something less stressful and more enjoyable though.

Baby Rouche is officially called Rue now. Rouche just wasn't sticking with me and it wasn't sticking with her either so she now responds and recognizes Rue. She is getting so big! Of course she is still ~10lbs but to me she has grown so much. Here are a few pictures to update you...

Poodle legs

Clean pooch

Really upset about her bath

Then there is this kid who I kind of like who decided to come back to Minnesota for a bit...

So happy to have M home

:)

For my birthday I picked up some new lipstick by MAC called Girl About Town and I absolutely love it! I've been looking for a lipstick that makes a statement but is still flattering and I've absolutely fallen in love with it. I'll post pictures of me wearing it soon.

I don't have much else to share with you. Have a wonderful weekend!

Videos of Peanut

My dad has been calling Rouche peanut brittle lately which is actually quite fitting since she's tiny like a peanut and the color of peanut brittle. Here are a few videos of what she's been up to...

Weekly Round Up: Happy Friday!

Hiiiiii lovers!! So sorry AGAIN, the crazy life I call mine never ceases to desist. I hope everyone else is getting just as excited as I am about this St. Patty's right around the corner; #1 because I'm alotta Irish and #2 because I will be working at an Irish bar in a mainly Irish populated city this year so I'm excited to watch everyone else act a fool while I make all the money, muahaha!

In other news, B. Rouche is doing great and really getting the hang of potty training. She is getting so big already it is so depressing! I'm not sure how I'll do with children growing so quickly if I can hardly handle my dog doing it. We are also varying our sleep routine; sometimes she sleeps with me, sometimes she sleeps in her kennel. Slowly but surely she is befriending her kennel, we are spending a lot of time in it when it gets close to bed time by her hanging out in it while I have my arm in there petting her and saying things like "good girl" and "good kennel". Seems to be working so it is nice to finally see some progress. She is also running at lightening speed up the stairs and is already due for her 12 week shots next week, how crazy! Gah, time is flying by.

Also, two good friends and I will begin a 90 day workout challenge starting Monday. I'm super excited about it and trying to figure out why we didn't do this before? I think it will be great that 2 others will be holding me accountable and vice versa, it will be great to push each other. I won't be posting too many details about the challenge until we're done, then I will be posting before and after photos, measurements, results, etc.

My goals for the 90 day challenge look something like this...

Honestly, I would kill to be able to confidently wear a thong bikini. Hopefully I can get close, fingers crossed.

In celebrity news, I CAN'T BELIEVE SNOOKI CAN REPRODUCE! Honestly, that girl should be one of the last people on Earth to have a child. YIKES

Look at this train wreck!
Yikes. Let's just hope Snooks cleans up that act of hers and pulls it together.

Secondly, anyone else see JSimp's naked prego Elle cover? I'm really 50/50 on this one because I do think pregnancy is beautiful and all that and I think I would like to do something similar but keep it to myself and throw it in a personal scrapbook. But on the other hand Mama Jess is just so big! I mean somebody needs to break her water because she looks like she is going to burst!

Does anyone else think that photoshopping of some sort was done here? Because why does she look so much bigger when she wears clothes?? I heard Jess has signed up to be a Jenny Craig spokeswoman to get rid of the baby weight which I'm excited about because you know she's gonna need help pullin that weight off and it will be cool to see how successful she is at it.

Last week I finally got my hair cut (it was going on 6 months, way too long I know!) and I asked my amazing stylist to recommend a restoring masque for my dry and damaged hair. This is what she suggested, I'm excited to do a review for it after I try it!

Also I've said it before but I am SO READY for M to be home. It is officially less than one month till he is back and I couldn't be more ready. Ready to have my partner, friend, confidant, voice of reason, love, shoulder, rock to be home and be by my side. So close! I'm so fed up with long distance that I don't even like to Skype that much anymore, I'm just annoyed with our current situation so I try not to acknowledge it and just keep counting down the days till he is home and we never have to do this again, woohoo!

Okay I think that's all I have for now. I'm going to post a couple videos of Rouche playing with Maggie at some point this weekend but otherwise don't expect much from me as I'll either be crazy busy working or dead tired from working.

Hope you all have a great weekend and a safe St. Patrick's!

Rouche Update: 10 Weeks

It's officially, baby girl has been with me for just over 2 weeks...how time flies!

She has a really good grasp on potty training and even barks at the door to go out if I don't notice her sniffing around. Accidents are still countable on 2 hands, thank God! She is coming into her personality more and more the more comfortable she gets at home and has quickly befriended every person she passes. She is also loving play time with my grandparents beagle, and my parents labradoodle.

I would still say that snuggling is her favorite activity and is still incredibly unhappy when she has to kennel while I work.

Playing with Maggie
I guess my head is comfy
Definitely a Mama's girl
The mirror is very perplexing
She can't take her eyes off of herself
Snuggs with Mags
New BFFs
Couldn't resist

Have a great weekend!

Is This What it Feels Like to Have Kids?

Waaaah (insert Snooki voice). I have not had a decent nights sleep in two weeks, this has to be what motherhood is like. Except I have a dog. Rouche officially hates her kennel at night and I have been trying my hardest but it is getting ridiculous; she has no problem going in at bedtime but hours after I wake up to her howling and whining like she's being abused. What gives? It's definitely not a bathroom cry, more like "why are you torturing me when all I want to do is snuggle" kinda cry. Does anyone have any suggestions?

While she's a stinker, here are some pictures of her more adorable moments.

Rouche's Dog Food

Okay so I've been trying to investigate the right kind of dog food for Rouche.

16 years ago when we had our first family dog, the general public wasn't aware of what we were feeding our pets or what ingredients were important in the ingredient list. Now, things are much different and awareness about ingredients, canned food, kibble, or raw diets has grown significantly.

I've been researching and continuing my search about raw diets and am very interested but don't feel 100% comfortable yet about providing Rouche with that diet so I'll slowly progress into the process as I feel more comfortable.

However, I have officially switched her over from Fromm's (below) which is what the breeder was feeding her to Blue Buffalo food and treats. I was very nervous about the transition since I know it's important to do so gradually but Rouche went straight bananas when she got a taste of her new food. I also bought a can of the puppy food as well because I think it's a good idea to mix up her diet that way she'll get the best of everything in a variety of options.

I will also note that although a little TMI, her stool has been a lot more solid and a lot less smelly.

Her old brand of dog food

Her new food

Her new food is made for growing pups and is chicken based only; this way I can slowly introduce her to different kinds of food and control her intake incase she has an unknown food allergy.

Little bit is also a huge fan of Greenies chew bones and Blue Buffalo 'Tranquility' chews. I give her a bone every time she goes in her kennel even though she doesn't like to chew them unless I'm around and she still hates her kennel so apparently she's not getting that "kennel is an O.K. place" vibe yet.

If you have pets what kind of diet are they are? Do you have any suggestions for me?

Love&Luck my friends!

Little girl is a Cockapoo mix and is currently 9 weeks old. I couldn't post this great news until I had introduced her to my family since some members read my blog and I didn't want anyone to tell my mom but me (she took it rather well actually).

So here she is and she is so freagin cute and playful and smart.

Rouche is pronounced like the sewing technique ruching (roo-sh-ing). And M and I came up with this name after stopping numerous times at a subway station in Paris called Barbès-Rochechouart. The way the recording announced this station stop was so funny and catching that we would always leave it repeating the name, hence we shortened it into Rouch, and changed the spelling accordingly. Although the name itself doesn't mean anything special, the station was named for the revolutionary Armand Barbes and abbess Marguarite de Rochechouart.

Obviously, I'll keep posting pictures of B. Rouche (baby Rouche has become my go-to nickname) as she grows and gets more and more adorable every day!
