Followers,
I know it has been forever (approximately 3 months) since my last post...pathetic, I know! Excuses aside, let me fill you in on the past 12 weeks.
I accepted my first "big girl" job and dove head-first into a career in the office technology industry. I will be the first to say that it is in no way glamorous but it sure pays the bills and allows me to be independent and self-sufficient, which is awesome!
Michael also left for his first professional season in Europe- Gap, France. It is located in Southern France about an hour from Marseille and a little further from Nice and Cannes. This year holds a lot of goals for us as a couple; I made the responsible decision to stay back and work to have my student loans paid off by next summer (I just wasn't able to keep a job with all of the moving this year and I would need a visa in France) so this way I am accomplishing that (so excited to say I am debt free before I turn 25) and Michael is still able to live out his dream of playing hockey. Surprisingly, we are able to speak at least once or twice a day and we both got into the swing of long distance easily since this is round 2 for us.
To begin my blogs "rebirth" so to speak, I will only be writing about a cute little book I found in Francesca's a few weeks ago. I bought the book as part of my friend's birthday gift but just couldn't resist reading every page before giving it to her (is that weird?).
So below are some words of wisdom:
He who lives long lives well
Youth is wasted on the young
Youth has a beautiful face, old age a beautiful soul
He who is ashamed to ask is ashamed to learn
A clear conscience is a good pillow
Better poverty than a home without virtue
Great modesty often hides great merit
What lies behind us and what lies ahead are tiny matters compared to what lies within
To err is human, to forgive divine
A good example is the best sermon
Don't bite the hand that feeds you
You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs
Diligence is the mother of good luck
That's all for now, I am not even close to being done reading it so I will keep posting as I get to them. Also look forward to reviews on The Paris Wife, The Lost Symbol and more!
XOXO
